First Quarter/Half Waxing Moon
Sorich ranch

Cole will be gone just two more weeks.
Everyone else was here and in such fine and delightful spirits.  The day was gray, over cast warm yet still cold with the wind whipping about every now and again.

We came to our spot, they came out and found wonderful mushrooms near the bus. The other children went to the other side of the road where our circle takes place yet Luna was immersed in the world of mushrooms and play. I came over to bring her over to the other children and she came talking all the way about the wonderful mushrooms. 🙂
Eamon and Holden checked out the big rock but then came down and the two of them + Violet went to play on the bouncy tree.  The girls were happy to set up circle time and mill around with each other.  Ashley was quite chilled most of the day so more layers were put on her. They all wanted snack straight away so we came in and began to read the sky above us. Were the clouds big, small, white, blue, black, gray? Was rain coming and what were the Wind Children doing right now?  We couldn’t see Grandpa Sun so it was the perfect time to begin singing our songs for, it turns out, the Sun, and the Moon and the Stars like to “eat” the children’s songs . Yes, it is like a delicous and loving snack for them. So, we fed them and then we had our own snack which all the children were delighted with.

Today I read a story that was about Jackie Jack Frosts sister The Child of Snow.  A story about an old man and old woman that never had children and they made one out of snow. She came alive and stayed with them only in the winter.  After story, we looked about to see if we could see or feel Jackie Jack Frost.  Sometimes we felt the nip on our nose or sting to our toes but we didn’t see anything frozen.  We played briefly in this spot after snack and then packed up and made it up the biggest hill we have walked upon so far.  I found a long Eucalyptus bark and used that to pull Uma, Luna, and Ashley up the big hill. Eamon and Holden just scurried up and Ruby took Violet, Ellie Acorn, and Ellie Turtle up the hill with her.  Luna whimpered all the way up and then cried for Daddy. Walking up the big hill was not her favorite. We snuggled for a bit and then sent colorful love to Daddy. Uma joined in and then all was well again.

There are two swings up there plus a bouncy tree.  Ruby put the children on the bouncy tree one by one and they got wonderful rides. Holden, Eamon, Violet, and Ashley liked the swing that you had to hang onto two handles and then twirl around and around.
We discovered a great place where beautiful paintings were on the rock face and it looked like we were in a great house. The children found lot’s of rocks that could break into stone tools to write with and clean sticks with. One by one they came into this house and they all played together using their tools, making house and stories.  At one point Ashley said she wanted to go home. She did not seem to be feeling all that well today.  I told her a little story about the magick of staying ever so still when you are wishing for something else or are, dare I use the word, BORED.  If you don’t move, the magick comes, that is just for you and a new discovery shows itself. But, again, you have to not move at all until that something special comes, just for you.   And sure enough, she said she saw a squirrel up in the tree jumping about. She then began to play again.

Lunchtime happened, and Ellie Turtle had to go poop.  It seemed that she had never done this before outside. We walked away from the group and I dug a hole.  She was not so keen on this yet, as she was squatting I sang a little poop song. She settled in, poop came, she turned around and looked, laughed and said, “It’s in a hole in the GROUND!” laughed again and went back to finish lunch.  Awe and delight in the simplest of things. 🙂 How much better can life be???????!!!!!!! 🙂

There was a little play after lunch and then the winds began to pick up a bit.  Eamon, Holden and Uma made it down the big hill and went ahead with Ruby. The rest were taking their time working at sliding down the big hill.  Ruby and the others made it back to the Big Rock and stood up there watching us come down, unbeknownst to us.  They howled to us and we howled back. We all made it to the bus and on the way back Ruby told a magickal Fairy story that everyone was mesmerized by.

Today Ellie Acorn was her playful fun, yet whispery self. Uma happy and playful with everyone. Ellie Turtle was just her playful self, Violet had the best day ever with ease, joy, fun and big smiles. Eamon was in a very happy place and he and Holden got along very well this week together and Ashley, as I shared, was not like her usual self, cold most of the day and quiet a lot yet never loosing her kindness and warm smile.

This was, over all, really a very, very, very fun and happy day.  Their bodies got pushed more than ever yet with the help of Eucalyptus plants and the fun of Mushrooms and freshly sprouting Soap Root leaves besides the many other wonders of Earth and Sky that we played with, they made it through with bodies all the better for it.
