Tender Tracks Tues. Day 51
April 4, 2017
Waxing half Moon
Sorich Ranch
What a very beautiful day! The amount of growth in the children that showed up today looked just like the immediate rush of blooming flowers that are all around us right now. The difference from the beginning of the year to this day was profound and so very beautiful to witness.
And, just to let you know, and, don’t be surprised by this, but….Isabella and Archer, well, they got married! Yes, that is correct. And, Kuba and Jesse worked at getting the area very nice for them. Jake was helping them get the food and flowers together and then Archer got stuck in a tree. Oh well, it all got squared away. Phew! And then, without us knowing, Isabella announced that they were, ALREADY, married!! Well, we missed the entire ceremony it seems. But no trouble actually, they said that they could do it again. 🙂
Kuba and Jesse were still moving the logs, well actually TRYING to figure out HOW to move the logs where they wanted them to be. Jesse had some great ideas. There was a bit of a catch though to where they wanted them. If they moved them there it would interfere with the parks needs so, we had quite a figuring out session on where we could actually put them. When it was all figured out, we began to drag this big log across the ground and then used another log to prop it up on and then, IT BECAME A GREAT TEETER TOTTER. Well, at least for a little while until it didn’t prove it self to be so safe. Then, down it went and of we went……
Michelle then brought them into a simple circle that brought us into finding rocks, cleaning them, grinding seeds, nuts and dried fruit, mixed with almond butter and honey, and turning them into yummy balls to eat!!! While she was rolling them I created a tic tac toe game on the ground. First Jesse played and, I won. Then Kuba played and, I won but let him take over from there. Then he played Jake, Archer, Jesse and he won and then, He played me and HE WON!!!!! Everyone was very impressed with his wise skills and so was I!!!!! He was delighted and in sweet joy with his strategies. We then got our things together and took the short cut up to the swings.
But oh yes, earlier when Jake and Isabella helped Archer get down from the tree the two boys said the sweetest things about Isabella. She had walked away to go help Jesse with something and Jake said ” Isabella is really nice.” and Archer said,” yes! she is really nice and, FUNNY!” and off they went.
The children have been wanting to go back to the swings for a while now and so we did but, we never took the short cut before. In the past this hike would have taken quite a bit of energy but today, they scampered up with joy, ease and FUN!!! And when we got there, poof, they scattered to their favorite spots: Jake clambered up a big rock, Kuba was immersed with following all the lizards that were around, Archer, followed that path and Jesse and Isabella went straight to the swings. And then from there, sharing climbing up the rocks, noticing how incredible the trees were that were growing in harmony with the rocks, finding sparkling rocks in the river, that was Isabella, and the most amazing thing was watching Kuba get into ECSTASY over twirling the swing round and round and round, then hold onto it, TWIRLING all around and then RUNNNNING down the hill yelling, THIS IS CRAZY!!!! with the biggest smile and laugh. He was so delighted with this game and Jesse followed him with joy. And while this was happening Jake fell in love with three little bugs that he found. Michelle got a little container, they put dirt in it and Jake, a long with Archer and Jesse, spent quite some time following the rolly polly and two other unidentified bug friends. When it was time to go Jake was beside himself when we needed to leave these friends there. What helped was comparing these new friends and their home to his visiting cousins. The final part that helped was that in his own backyard there would be little new bug friends there to find and play with. With that, his tears dried up, and down the hill we went.
Isabella too had some challenges, she found such great stones in the creek and wanted to keep them all, but alas, all things have their home and she got to choose one. And in truth she gave thanks and love to the other shinning beauties, threw them back in the water, took the one beauty, put it in her pocket and down the hill she went.
The strength in each one of them today, their eyes beaming with sparkly joy, being a beautiful group together and caring so much about each other was radiant and joyful to witness.
In the bus they again, really wanted a picture drawn of their day so Michelle complied with her usual beautiful way. They were then content and then, off we went.
