Tender Tracks Day 40

Feb. 23, 2017
Waning Moon
Lake Lagunitas

Jesse, Edie & Kai absent.

Archer’s mother joined us today and at the end of the day one of Jake’s thank you’s was :’ I am happy that Archer’s Mom was here today.’

The day was an on going Hide and go Seek game with the Cloud Children and the Sun. They just LOVED to cover His face up so that the sky was gray and the air was cold and then UNCOVER the Sun so that we became warm and basking in Sun’s Rays again.
This brought about nothing less then great gratitude for the warmth of Sun!

Circle time’s story was filled with many little figurines of animals and Trippy Truppy and Trilly truppy having circle time. In this story Everyone had a job! and then, Tripppy Troopy told a story about Why Grandpa Sun ALWAYS Shines every morning and Why we Always sing to Him. The children loved this as well as the little figurines and played with them after story. After the story they all received their own jobs at Tender Tracks.
Ruby and Isabella: helpers of passing out the stuffed animals
Jake: Thank you plate person
Archer: Snack Helper
Kuba: Guardian of Safety ( he carries a small first aid kit)

We gathered and began our adventure to a familiar spot on the other side of the Alpine lake. Ruby very quickly on got very wet so Michelle ran back to the bus for her clothes. While she was doing that Kuba tripped over some rocks and got quite a big puffy lip and some scraps. He was tended to and while that was happening Archer’s Mom changed Ruby from wet to dry!

Kuba was in a quiet and rested state for a good portion of the day after that. Jake was a bit under the weather yet was delighted to play with all his Tender Tracks friends. Ruby was in high spirits and so delighted with being in nature and playing, mostly with Isabella yet also with Jake and everyone else. Today she even climbed way high up into a tree fort that someone had built!! Isabella was also a very happy camper and delighted with her play.

She and Ruby had made a place called “Japan” and there, next to the lake, they caught a lot of “fish” and were making great meals. Isabella made some rice and beans for us all. Jake came over and he was really clearing things out for everyone with a stick that was transformed, by all of them, into a digging stick, a scythe and hoe and many other things they wanted it to be. Kuba at the end of the day found the perfect place to put it so that we can find it again when we return. Archer was delighted to be with his mom and when she left he loved, loved climbing up the same tree fort that Ruby did.

The entire day was very, very peaceful even in the midst of Kuba’s fall. Jake came immediately to his aid as well and brought little plants that he got wet in order to clean some of the blood off of his hands. It was all quite gently rolling and finding the right rhythm. And speaking of Rhythm, Jake LOVED playing music so he and I began using a log with sticks to sing many songs. Isabella came by, Ruby came by, and Kuba was listening on the bench as he lay in the sun. We sang and played great music for everyone.

We all had fun watching the ducks on the water and the birds in the sky when we first got to our spot. They all sat lined up on this long log made into bench and we just sat there noticing Life all around us.  So very, very gentle.

When we got back to the bus the children drew in their nature books while others were getting changed and then we made our way back and, made it RIGHT ON TIME!
