Marin Tender Tracks Wed. May 11, 2016 Day 30
Waxing Moon
Lake Lagunitas
Everyone was here and back from one holiday or another and it was DELIGHTFUL!!! And, another mile stone day. The group has truly, truly gelled. Everyone was welcoming and playing with each other throughout the day. It was so beautiful to be apart of.
When we got to Lake Lagunitas we went straight to the sunny area to have our circle. We had some new songs and a glorious story that they were riveted by about Why we sing to the Sun every morning. Due to this we sing to the Sun every day and give so much thanks that it rises every day, without fail, and shines upon us with all it’s gifts.
In the story the Sun had hid inside a cave and from that prompt the children, after story, dashed off looking for caves and dark holes throughout the day.
They are all so clearly four or close to it with their bodies, social play, and ability to run about. I believe today was the first day that they, with total ease, ran and made it on the longest walk to date.
They never really even blinked an eye and had so much fun finding the Robin Redbreasts, Woodpeckers, Fairy Pools in the tree nooks, Butterflies, Butterflies, Butterflies, little fish in the lake, and frogs that we couldn’t see.
The conversations that took place today were involved and very alive and about their lives.
Isabella and Kuba had a sweet talk about Kuba’s Mom that works and Isabella’s Mom that doesn’t. Kai and Ruby had some great conversations about Butterflies and such. Eli delighted in taking his clothes off and being in the water.
I made a little boat out of the plants at the lake. The children gathered their wishes from all around made out of daises, cones, grasses and the like. We then put them on the boat and sailed them away. By days end Eli went out in the water to get the boat that did not sail very far due to no wind, got it and brought it back. He was very proud!!!
While we were getting ready to leave Kuba went off. We were concerned where he was. I went over and there he was sitting in the shade. I asked him what he was doing ” I’m relaxing” he said. He looked just like Ferdinand the Bull, sitting and just smelling the flowers.
Ruby, Isabella, Kai, Eli, and Kuba all played with laughter, care and love. We all were so delighted as we sat quietly watching these very large Butterflies drink water from the mud for quite some time. The air was filled almost all day with the sound of birds. It was such a joy being surrounded by Spring cacophony and life showing up all around us.
